Black Friday 2024: The best new car sales

Australia's Black Friday sales are a chance for car dealerships and brands to offer you impressive discounted rates on new cars and clear their stock before the end of the year.

While you may be in the midst of saving for Christmas presents, now might be the perfect opportunity to jump into that car that you've been eyeing for the past year.

We have compiled a list of brands and dealerships offering the best discounts on new, demo, and used vehicles for Black Friday 2024.

Skoda’s Superb discount

Skoda is offering an impressive $10,000 off the drive-away price on its Superb sedan and wagon as part of a special Black Friday sale.

That means that you can drive away in a Superb sedan for $61,990 and the wagon for $63,990, with coverage from Skoda's usual seven-year/unlimited-kilometre warranty.

The discounts come as a new generation of Superb is due to arrive in Australia between mid-to-late 2025.

The discount applies to the final 135 examples of the model, which come in Sportline 206TSI 4×4 specification, from now until November 30, 2024.

Mazda offers big savings

Mazda Australia is offering an impressive deal on the new CX-60 SUV with nearly $10,000 off on selected variants.

The CX-60 Evolve petrol can be driven away from $56,990, which means that it's an approximate $8820 saving in Victoria and much cheaper than the car previously was before on-roads at $60,550.

The diesel Evolve is $58,990 drive-away, representing a $8900 saving, and the plug-in hybrid CX-60 is positioned at $70,040, trimming about $9270 from the drive-away price.

The savings also reach the GT grade, which is $64,990 for the petrol, $66,990 for the diesel, and $78,040 for the PHEV, all prices drive-away.

Mazda has also offered savings of over $4300 on its popular mid-sized SUV, the CX-5.

The entry-level Mazda CX-5 G20 Maxx is available at $37,990 drive-away, showing a $2856 discount when compared to its $40,846 price after on-road costs in Victoria.

The G25 Maxx Sport trim starts from $42,220 (FWD) and $44,825 (AWD), while the higher-spec touring starts from $46,428, the G25 GT SP from $54,620 and the G35 GT SP from $54,620. All three trims offer over $3000 in savings when the driveaway price is considered.

The top-spec Mazda CX-5 Akera sees the biggest estimated discount across the entire range at $530,043 for the G25 (A $4377 saving) and $55,648 for the G35 (a $4381 saving.)

BYD’s Black Friday 2024 offer

BYD has joined the season of sales with a $3000 discount on its entire Australian range, excluding the new Shark 6 ute.

The promotion, which started on Thursday, November 14, cuts $3000 from the drive-away price of the BYD Atto 3, BYD Dolphin, BYD Seal, and BYD Sealion 6.

The deal is improved by a free electric car wall charger valued at $1000 which will be offered to approved customers. The installation is not included, so factor that in your costs.

To be eligible for the promotion, buyers must purchase any in-stock, eligible BYD car before the end of the month and take delivery by Tuesday, December 31, 2024.

Suzuki’s Black Friday sale

This is a surprising one for the Japanese marque: Suzuki is offering a 10 per cent discount across its entire lineup, which includes the Jimny for the first time since the model’s launch in 2019.

The deal is available now and applies to new and demonstrator vehicles in stock purchased by Friday, November 29, 2024, and delivered by November 30, 2024. This means the car must be in stock at a dealership to qualify for the savings.

Buyers can save up to $4199, including on the newly launched Jimny XL five-door.

The deal covers the entire Suzuki range, including the Swift, Ignis, Vitara, S-Cross and, of course, the Jimny.

This deal is not available in Queensland and far-north New South Wales, where Suzuki cars are sold by a different distributor than the rest of the country.

Renault Black Friday offer

Less of a car discount and more of a bonus, Renault is offering a $500 Good Food restaurant gift card when you purchase a new or demonstrator vehicle.

The offer starts on November 25, 2024, and ends on November 30, 2024, and is only available at participating dealerships.

You must take delivery of your new vehicle by December 6, 2024, and the gift card will be valid until February 4, 2025.

GWM Plate Clearance Plus

GWM has capitalised on Black Friday time but offering big discounts on most of its range, with the offer extending until December 7, 2024.

The offer, which started on the November 23, sees the Cannon Alpha dual-cab ute in its CC, Lux, Ultra and Ultra Hybrid trims shave $2000 off the driveaway price. There are further discounts for the base model Cannon which strips $2500 off the price, Cannon-L with a $3000 discount, and the Vanta/XSR trims save $4000. These deals mean you can drive away in a base model for as little as $35,490.

Also included in the sale is the Tank 300 in Lux, Ultra, Lux Hybrid and Ultra Hybrid trims. All levels receive a $2000 discount and allow buyers to drive away in a Tank 300 for as little as $45,990.

The Haval Jolion sees savings of up to $3000 with the Premium and Lux trim levels, while the Hybrid versions shave $1000 off from the driveaway price. You could drive away in a Jolion for as little as $23,990.

It’s the same with the Haval H6, the Premium, Lux and Ultra Hybrid cut $3000 off the driveaway price, while the Ultra shaves $4000 off. The savings mean you can exit the dealership with a H6 for as little as $33,990.

Finally, the most impressive savings are with the Ora. The Standard Range trim gets $2000 off, while the GT discounts $5000 and the Extended Range drops $6000 off the driveaway price. Included in the deal for the Ora is a free GWM charging station worth $1,690.

Across all models above is a further first three scheduled services completely free at GWM dealerships.

Toyota HiLux Black Friday finance offer

Toyota is offering a lower comparison rate for Black Friday on two of its HiLux trims, ending November 30.

Apply for finance through your local Toyota dealership and receive a 5.9 per cent comparison rate for personal applicants and a 5.9 per cent annual rate for business applicants on the HiLux Rogue and GR Sport.

The deal extends to both new and demo models, the application must be received by November 30, 2024 and settled by February 28, 2025 with a maximum term of 48 months.

Carbar member offer

Carbar, a subscription service offering ongoing car rental for a weekly fee, is promising savings across some of its vehicle range.

Carbar is offering to waive its upfront fee and give the first two weeks of its subscription free to 10,000 applicants in Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland.

The highlight of this deal is the ability to rent a Tesla Model 3 for as little as $1003 for the first month.

The savings will entirely depend on the model of the car, with the higher weekly subscriptions receiving the biggest discounts, such as the 2021 Mitsubishi Pajero Sport scoring a $654 saving in the first month of membership and the 2023 Volkswagen T-Roc scoring a $558 saving on a month’s membership.
