BMW has reportedly stopped taking orders for its twin-turbo V8 M8 Coupe – but the Convertible and Gran Coupe are set to remain in production, for now.
The BMW M8 Coupe has reportedly hit the end of the road.
According to BMW Blog, order books for the V8-powered M8 Coupe have closed globally, with production for remaining orders due to be filled imminently.
Citing a bulletin recently sent to BMW dealers, the publication reports the M8 Coupe will be removed from BMW's website and online configurator in January 2025.
The BMW M8 Convertible and M8 Gran Coupe will continue for the immediate future, the report claims.
BMW insider 'ynguldyn' previously indicated the 8 Series and M8 coupes would end production in October 2025, with the convertible and four-door models to continue until June 2026.
It is unclear if the standard 8 Series Coupe has been dropped alongside the M8 performance model.

The discontinuation of the 8 Series Coupe will leave the smaller 2 Series and 4 Series as the remaining two-door hardtop models in the brand's line-up – including the M2 and M4.
Unveiled in mid-2018, the BMW 8 Series Coupe was a successor to the 6 Series, and was soon followed by the Convertible and four-door Gran Coupe body types.
Heavily based on the previous-generation 5 Series and 7 Series sedans, the six-year-old 8 Series has missed out on updates applied to more recent BMW models, including larger screens running up-to-date software.
The BMW 8 Series is offered in Australia in Coupe, Convertible and Gran Coupe forms, priced between $194,000 and $380,000 before on-road costs.
Coupe and Gran Coupe models are available in 840i and M8 Competition variants, while the Convertible is limited to the 840i.
The rear-wheel-drive 840i features a 250kW/500Nm 'B58' 3.0-litre turbocharged inline-six, while the all-wheel-drive M8 Competition has the same 460kW/750Nm 'S63' 4.4-litre twin-turbo V8 as the outgoing M5 Competition.
VFACTS new-car sales data reveals 39 BMW 8 Series vehicles were delivered in Australia between January and November 2024, split between 25 coupes/convertibles and 14 Gran Coupes.
It is the slowest-selling BMW vehicle in Australia year-to-date – excluding the discontinued 6 Series Gran Turismo (three) – behind the 7 Series/i7 limousine (78), Z4 convertible (87), and XM upper-large SUV (124).
Over the same time, Audi delivered 56 A7s, Porsche delivered 56 Panameras, Lexus delivered 50 LCs, and Mercedes-Benz delivered 17 AMG GTs.
