Victoria Police are looking for the suspect who was seen in the distinctive wagon outside a cemetery at the time.

Police are on the hunt for a man accused of using a Holden Commodore to do burnouts outside a cemetery – during a funeral.

According to Victoria Police, the grey Holden VE Commodore SS Series II Sportwagon was spotted doing burnouts while a funeral service was taking place at an adjacent cemetery in Wawunna Road, Horsham.

Not content with disrupting someone's final farewell, the car was then seen travelling along Davis Drive where it left the road at speed, causing rocks to be flicked up into the air and rain down on nearby vehicles – shattering the back window of one where a woman was sitting inside.

Luckily the woman was not injured during the incident, which took place at around 2.55pm on 24 June.

Police confronted the driver of the Commodore, which was not wearing registration plates at the time, but he refused to provide his details before fleeing the scene.

They have since released an image of a man they wish to speak to, who is described as being of medium build with short brown hair and a short beard. He was wearing black pants, a black jacket and sunglasses.

The vehicle is grey in colour, with distinctive yellow tyre sidewalls and colour-coded brake calipers, along with black aftermarket wheels.

Anyone who witnessed the incident, has dashcam footage, CCTV or any other information which could assist police is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or submit a confidential report online at www.crimestoppersvic.com.au
