Police hunting vandal over 45 slashed car tyres in Melbourne's East

Victoria Police has released CCTV footage and images of a man allegedly involved in a vandalism incident in which 38 vehicles were targeted.

Authorities are asking the public for information relating to a string of vandalised cars in Melbourne's East.

Victoria Police has released CCTV footage and images of a man it believes was involved in targeting 38 parked vehicles along George Street in East Melbourne.

It’s believed 45 tyres were slashed “by a sharp object” at approximately 1:15am on 12 July 2024, with affected owners notifying police the following morning.

The alleged offender is perceived to be Caucasian, of large build and fair hair with a "light brown handlebar moustache".

CCTV footage shows him wearing a black hoodie with a "Brooklyn 76 Athletics" logo on the front as well as dark jeans and black shoes.

Police are urging anyone with information relating to the vandalism incident to contact Crime Stoppers at 1800 333 000 or alternatively, send an anonymous report online at www.crimestoppersvic.com.au.
