The stewards opted not to take any further action after the late-race collision between Carlos Sainz and Sergio Perez during the Azerbaijan Grand Prix. However, Formula 1 fans have largely placed the blame on the Mexican driver for the incident with Carlos Sainz at the 6.003-kilometre Baku City Circuit last Sunday.

The crash occurred during a fierce battle for second place with Charles Leclerc on the penultimate lap of the Azerbaijan Grand Prix. After a poor exit from Turn 1, the Red Bull driver lost momentum in his attempt to overtake the Monegasque, allowing Carlos Sainz to move ahead into P3. Heading into the next turn, the Ferrari man ran wide, giving Sergio Perez the opportunity to draw alongside him on the back straight.

Moments later, the two made contact, sending both cars crashing into the barriers at high speed and ending their race with just one lap to go. The stewards reviewed the incident and ruled it a racing incident, deciding against penalizing either driver.

However, a poll that has been recently conducted by RacingNews365 shows that many fans disagree with the stewards’ decision. According to the poll, 43.57% of fans held Sergio Perez responsible for the crash, 35.82% blamed Carlos Sainz, while 20.61% remained undecided.
