Benedetto Vigna rules out Formula E for Ferrari: "We don't like it, it has no appeal"

An intriguing possibility

Rumors of a sensational entry of Ferrari into Formula E in the near future lasted just a few weekends. It was Jeff Dodds, the CEO of the electric series, who had recently opened the door to the Italian side, which would have been a phenomenal image boost for the series launched in 2014.

“I think Ferrari’s involvement would elevate the championship,” said the 51-year-old manager.

Definitive rejection

However, his hopes were decisively dashed by Ferrari’s CEO Benedetto Vigna, who spoke on the sidelines of the inauguration of Ferrari’s e-building in Maranello.

“We don’t like Formula E,” stated the head of Ferrari bluntly. “It doesn’t have much appeal. We will remain focused on Formula 1. We’ve already made our choices in motorsport: F1, WEC, and the Ocean Races that we announced in recent months.” Unambiguous words that definitively close the matter.
