“I have full confidence in my abilities. That said, it's very difficult to say now whether I can beat him because I have never directly compared myself to Lewis in the same car at the same time—I guess time will tell,” said Leclerc. “It's definitely a huge challenge and probably one of the biggest of my career. He is the most successful driver in F1, and having him as a teammate is a great motivation for me, both to learn and to show what I'm capable of.” – the Monegasque driver pointed out.
“Will the age difference work in my favor? I don't know. From what I've seen of Lewis, he's in incredible shape, so I don't think that will play a role. I believe he is extremely motivated to start this new adventure,” he added. “We can push each other to improve. A teammate always pushes the other side of the garage to get better and to replicate the things they do better than you.
