Scuderia Ferrari driver Carlos Sainz expressed his frustration with the Maranello team after a mix-up during the 2024 Formula 1 Las Vegas Grand Prix. The Spanish driver was in a competitive position near the front of the race when he requested a second pit stop halfway through the 50-lap event. Initially, Ferrari gave the green light for the pit stop, but they then called it off at the last minute, leaving Carlos Sainz confused and agitated.

Having already prepared for the stop, Carlos Sainz was told that his pit crew wasn't ready. A visibly frustrated Carlos Sainz responded sharply, “Wake up, guys!” His irritation was clear as he questioned what had gone wrong. To add to the confusion, Carlos Sainz appeared to cross the white line on the pit entry, though the race stewards chose not to penalize him for the incident.

Despite the pit stop drama, Carlos Sainz went on to finish in third place, behind the Mercedes drivers, George Russell and Lewis Hamilton.

At 30 years old, Carlos Sainz is set to leave the Italian side at the end of this season and join the Williams F1 team for the 2025 campaign. Meanwhile, Max Verstappen secured his fourth consecutive drivers' title, finishing in fifth place at the race.

Here is the team radio exchange between between the Spanish driver and his Ferrari race engineer Riccardo Adami:
