Charles enjoys Arthur's debut: “Two Leclercs in Ferrari, in F1, is special.” Charles’ brother will take Carlos Sainz's place during the first free practice session in Abu Dhabi. This is an important opportunity for the young Monegasque, who has been racing this year in the Italian GT Championship and ELMS. Regarding his future, Charles doesn’t make any predictions: for now, it’s time to enjoy Friday’s session.

Realizing the dream of racing in F1 is special for everyone, from the driver to the family behind them. The sacrifices needed to reach this goal are immense and often require difficult decisions. The Leclercs’ story, with the touching “lie” Charles told his father about racing for Ferrari, is a perfect example of how romantic motorsport can be.

On Friday morning, during the first free practice session, the Monegasque miracle will double: there will be two Leclercs behind the wheel of a Ferrari in an official F1 session. Charles and Arthur will share the track, with the young debutant replacing Carlos Sainz for the final slot dedicated to young drivers.

Charles Leclerc: “My father gave everything for us”
Speaking to journalists in Abu Dhabi, an emotional Charles Leclerc spoke about his brother’s debut, which will take place on Friday at the 5.281-kilometre Yas Marina Circuit on Yas Island: “It's definitely a very, very special moment, not only for me, not only for Arthur, but I think for the whole family. I know how many sacrifices our parents made to keep us going when I was younger.” – he pointed out.

“Luckily for them, my older brother decided to take another path, studying, which cost much less – the Monegasque jokes – But my younger brother and I had one dream: to become professional drivers.”

“My younger brother didn't have the same opportunities as I did: he had to stop his career for 4-5 years because our parents couldn't afford to let us both race. I know how important it was for my father to restart Arthur's career. Tomorrow will be very special for this reason, for all my father did for us to pursue our dream.”

“As for the future, I don't know, to be honest. For now, I'm enjoying the moment, it's a dream for both of us. Our whole family is flying from Monaco to here to enjoy this moment during FP1. Then, of course, we'll also focus on the weekend, because it's a very, very important weekend for the team.”
