Las Vegas potentially decisive, but only for the Drivers’ Championship
The Las Vegas Grand Prix could put an exclamation mark on the Drivers’ Championship in the event of a victory by Max Verstappen, with the Dutchman clinching his fourth consecutive world title. Such a success would simultaneously bring Red Bull closer to the top of the Constructors’ standings, although with three races left in the season, the current leader is McLaren.
The direct battle between McLaren and Ferrari
The British team, which has shown gradual improvement in competitiveness throughout the season, is fighting for its ninth world title, which would be its first since 1998. A long absence, ten years longer than Ferrari’s, which is currently second in the standings and has not won the championship since 2008. While Red Bull could launch a final attack on its rivals by seizing favorable opportunities (with the Anglo-Austrian team trailing by 49 points), the gap between Ferrari and McLaren is only 36 points.
The best results without being the fastest
Charles Leclerc remains optimistic about winning the world title and reflected on Ferrari's season so far, highlighting the team's efforts:
“At the start, we were quite far behind McLaren, and now we are second and very close,” he said in an interview with the Italian daily newspaper *La Repubblica*. “The same goes for Red Bull, which dominated in the first part, while now we are more often ahead than behind them. This proves we have done an excellent job as a team, but above all, we have achieved the best even when we didn't have the fastest car. In fact, there were only a few races where we were the strongest, but many where we got the most out of what we had. We talk about it often: making the most of our potential. This has paid off and continues to do so.”
