Dear Charles,
It's been almost three weeks since the Abu Dhabi race. How are you? We hope better than back then, because we saw with our own eyes how many tears yours shed. After all, we completely understand you. Years and years of sacrifices aimed at achieving one goal: bringing Ferrari back to the top of the world. Years and years that pass in front of you in just a few seconds when, at the checkered flag, the trophy slipped away. Years and years in which, however, you made us feel emotions like never before. Do you remember the first win of your career? Most likely, yes, in fact, you probably remember it better than we do. It's been over five years since that day at Spa when you crossed the line first, just twenty-four hours after losing a great friend: Anthoine Hubert. You dedicated that victory to him, pointing upwards. The following week, you repeated it in Monza, at our home, making us rejoice for a Ferrari triumph for the first time since 2010, accomplishing a feat you repeated again this year.
Returning to this year, and the tears with which it ended, know that we truly appreciate them. They show, once again (although probably there was no need to), your unconditional love for Ferrari. That Ferrari, which for us, lifelong fans just like you, is a second skin colored red. What a special color, don't you think? The same one you sought since you were a child, when you watched F1 cars zoom past the streets of Monaco with your family. Yes, your Monaco, with which you've always had a love-hate relationship throughout your career: you've always loved it, but it's always hated you. However, this year, the story changed. In fact, you changed it, winning that coveted trophy and fulfilling a dream of yours. Another one, as we all know, slipped away in Abu Dhabi, as mentioned earlier. You didn't manage to bring Ferrari back to the championship, but we're fine with it. We're fine with those tears we saw you shed with sincere sorrow after the race, which are worth more than a thousand words. We just need to know that, every time you drive that car on tracks around the world, you give 101% to succeed in your mission: to become world champion.
Well Charles, allow us to say that now that mission feels like our own. We all feel united in the journey that will take you, sooner or later, to win a title with Ferrari. Yes, you read that right: no "ifs," only a "sooner or later." Because dreamers like us, and we know that you are one too, know that dreams do come true. Yours will too, rewarding all the love you've given to Ferrari and its fans throughout your life. Sooner or later, Charles, it will happen. And we'll always be by your side until that moment; and it will be even more wonderful than any of us can imagine, you'll see.
