From disappointment to resurgence

In early December, an announcement brought unwelcome news to Dutch Formula 1 fans: from 2027, they will no longer be able to attend the Dutch Grand Prix at the Zandvoort circuit. The Netherlands will exit the calendar after the 2026 edition, marking the sixth edition since its return to the Circus in 2021. However, despite this setback, there were also significant triumphs.

The victory of Zandvoort

At the Bea World Festival in Rome, the organizers of the Dutch Grand Prix won the ‘Best Event Award 2024,’ recognizing it as the best sporting event of the year. The win was attributed to the excellent combination of sport, spectacle, and entertainment, particularly during the ‘Super Friday.’ On that Friday, when free practice sessions (usually less engaging than qualifying or races) took place, the organizers delivered opening shows, Q&A sessions with drivers, and performances by artists.

Jeddah in 2nd place

The ‘Best Event of the Year’ title was awarded to the Dutch GP, surpassing another F1 weekend, the Saudi Arabian GP.
“We are immensely satisfied with this recognition at the Bea World Festival,” said Joey Milatz, FOM Liaison Officer of SportVibes, the company responsible for the organization and entertainment program alongside TIG Sports and the Zandvoort circuit. “This award confirms our team’s dedication and creativity and inspires us to raise the bar even higher for the next two editions.”
