Ferrari's team boss Frederic Vasseur has expressed confidence that there will be no internal conflicts between Charles Leclerc and the newly-signed Lewis Hamilton during the 2025 Formula 1 campaign, even if the pair find themselves battling for the world championship in the next season. The French manager also touched on the Maranello team’s progress in developing their 2025 and 2026 Formula 1 projects, with significant regulation changes on the horizon.

With both Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton eager to perform at the highest level, the Italian side now boasts a lineup of two highly competitive drivers. While having two frontrunners could potentially lead to tension within the Maranello team, Frederic Vasseur remains adamant that such issues won't arise, asserting that the team will manage the situation effectively to ensure a harmonious campaign next season.

“Clearly, the last two years, I let them [Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz] race on track and it was for the benefit of the team because the emulation that we created like this was part of the recovery. When we had tough times, they had a huge respect between them,” the French manager pointed out in a discussion with Sky Sports – “No, it’s part of the performance of the team.” – the former Alfa Romeo team principal continued.

Ferrari Faces Key Decision: Prioritize 2025 or Focus on 2026?
With the looming regulation overhaul set for the 2026 Formula 1 season, teams are grappling with a critical dilemma: whether to fully optimize their 2025 cars for immediate success or to shift focus early toward developing their designs for the significant changes ahead. The balancing act between short-term gains and long-term preparation is a challenge every team, including Ferrari, must navigate carefully.

“I think that everybody will be on the grid will be in the same situation. That we will have to take a decision at one stage of 2025 to switch completely on 2026. This will depend for sure of the first races to see if you are fighting for something or not. And everybody will have the same approach. Everybody will ask the question, that we have to stop this project or to switch. Let’s hope that we will be in a good position after a couple of events.” – Scuderia Ferrari team boss Frederic Vasseur concluded.
