Ferrari not favorite in Qatar, but Fred Vasseur believes: "We will give it our all"

It will be tough, very tough, but Ferrari is not giving up. The Constructors’ Championship is the goal the Scuderia is aiming for, to end a wait that has lasted since 2008. Fred Vasseur has looked at the Las Vegas Grand Prix with a positive outlook, especially for the 12 points gained on McLaren ahead of the final two races. The Frenchman is aware that in Qatar, the Maranello team will have to attack Woking’s team on a track like Lusail, which offers several high-speed corners not ideal for the SF-24.
Ferrari has carefully prepared for the race at the edge of the desert, and even the heated disputes between the drivers have dissipated in the face of the hope of winning a championship…
“The second race of this final triple-header takes us from the cold desert of Las Vegas – where we reduced our gap to McLaren by a third, from 36 to 24 points – to the much hotter climate of Lusail. The tracks couldn't be more different, as we go from 90-degree corners mixed with long straights to a circuit with many high-speed corners, a feature that on paper doesn't play to our advantage.”
The Sprint race format has always highlighted a Scuderia capable of putting a competitive SF-24 on track even in the only practice session…
“The Qatar GP is the last of the season with the Sprint format, which tends to highlight the work teams do at home since there is only one practice session available. There are 59 points up for grabs, but we are not in a position to make any calculations. Our job is to carefully manage the execution and ensure Charles and Carlos can make the most of their SF-24s' potential.”
Fred Vasseur motivates the team: he knows the chase against McLaren won't be easy, but the course of the championship shows that often results differ from the predictions made on paper. Fred expects a highly motivated Scuderia…
“The extremely high level of this Formula 1, especially in recent races, has shown us that every small detail can make a difference and even overturn scenarios that seemed more certain. It's time for the drivers, the engineers, and the team – both on track and in Maranello – to make the final effort in the last two races of the season. Let's give it our all!”
