The Brothers on Track with the SF-24
The final Grand Prix of the 2024 Formula 1 season is just around the corner. In Abu Dhabi, the curtain will fall on a highly positive season for Scuderia Ferrari. The Maranello team has secured five victories, a tally not achieved since 2018. Frederic Vasseur's team is also still in contention for the Constructors' Championship. Recovering 21 points from McLaren is a tall order, but compared to the struggles of 2023 — a season in which Ferrari was the only team other than Red Bull to win — the effort of the men in red deserves applause.
At Yas Marina, Friday’s free practice sessions will be special for Charles and Arthur Leclerc, as both brothers will take to the track with the SF-24. Arthur Leclerc will replace Carlos Sainz for the second and final session that Ferrari must dedicate to a young driver, as required by regulations. The last brothers to share the track were Michael and Ralf Schumacher in Brazil during the final race of 2005. On Tuesday, Antonio Fuoco will participate in the 2025 tire tests, having supported Ferrari's final push for the Constructors' title via the simulator over the weekend.
As for Ferrari's 'bench' in 2025, today's edition of the Italian newspaper *Corriere dello Sport* suggests that Arthur Leclerc and Antonio Giovinazzi will form the duo ready to step in for any absences or unavailability of Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton. This season, Oliver Bearman replaced Carlos Sainz in Saudi Arabia. The Briton will be a full-time driver for Haas in 2025.
