Ferrari team boss Frédéric Vasseur spoke about the imminent arrival of Lewis Hamilton in Maranello, clearly addressing those who label the seven-time world champion as “washed-up.”
Fred Vasseur’s words
These were the statements of Ferrari’s team principal: “He had excellent races in Las Vegas, in Abu Dhabi [towards the end of the 2024 season, ed.], and I was never, truly, never, never, never, never concerned about the situation [regarding some underwhelming performances, ed.].”
“I am truly convinced that it was the situation [the context of the announced departure, ed.], and I don't want to blame Lewis or Mercedes, but that situation was not easy to manage, and I can understand that if things didn't end very well, one can struggle in a relationship like that.”
“He wasn't very clear-headed — he clearly admitted this in Brazil, for example — but he also performed very well in the last two events. I'm not worried at all,” concluded Frederic Vasseur.
