The FIA has officially confirmed the 2025 F1 calendar, along with major changes for the upcoming season. Notably, the 2025 championship will be the 75th in F1 history. The schedule includes 24 races, starting in Australia on March 16 and concluding in Abu Dhabi on December 7.
With this change, the season opener returns to Australia, where Lewis Hamilton will make his highly anticipated Ferrari debut. This adjustment also allows the Bahrain and Saudi Arabian Grands Prix to return to Sunday racing, as both events will take place in April after the conclusion of Ramadan.
“The changes made to the 2024 calendar to create a better geographical flow for the races have been carried over to 2025, with Japan in April after Australia and China,” explained Mohammed Ben Sulayem. Indeed, the first three races will be in Australia, China, and Japan.

Next season will also include two triple headers. The first will cover the European rounds of Imola, Monaco, and Barcelona from May 16 to June 1. The second will take place in the final three races of the season: Miami, Qatar, and Abu Dhabi.
Qatar has already been moved to November for the upcoming season to avoid the extreme heat experienced in Losail during the 2023 edition, which caused significant issues for drivers and mechanics alike. By rescheduling the Qatar GP as the penultimate round, F1 aims to mitigate the impact of the desert climate.
Another major change is the introduction of a double summer break. There will be a four-week break in August between the Hungarian and Dutch GPs, as well as a three-week break in July between Silverstone and Spa. This will create two pauses during the hottest months of the year.
