While awaiting his debut in Ferrari's red suit, where he will join the team next year alongside Charles Leclerc, Lewis Hamilton continues to make headlines not only for his results on the track but also for his prominent role off the circuits. The world of fashion has always been of great interest to the British superstar, and now the seven-time Formula 1 world champion is also making strides at the highest levels in this sector.
The current Mercedes driver, who has also returned to winning ways in Formula 1 this year by taking victories at the British and Belgian GPs, has been named among the co-chairs of the 2025 Met Gala. The next edition of the exhibition organized by the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York will be dedicated to the style of Black men from the 18th century to the present day. The title and theme of the Costume Institute's spring 2025 exhibition is *Superfine: Tailoring Black Style*. Lewis Hamilton, who has been a regular attendee of the Met Gala since 2015, will share the role of co-chair with other international superstars from sports, music, and entertainment such as Pharrell Williams, A$AP Rocky, Colman Domingo, and honorary president LeBron James.

"I am deeply honored to be one of the co-chairs of next year's Met Gala, *Superfine: Tailoring Black Style*," Lewis Hamilton wrote on his social media channels, commenting on the announcement. "This theme touches me deeply. When I started my career, I never imagined what I would be able to achieve beyond my sport. The pressure to conform holds many people back. Growing up as the only Black kid on the track, this pressure often affected me. Expressing myself creatively has been, and still is, my freedom from conformity. For Black people in the diaspora, fashion is self-preservation. Fashion is resilience, and I can't wait to further explore and amplify our underrepresented voices."
Presided over by Anna Wintour, the 2025 Met Gala will take place in New York on May 5. The *Superfine: Tailoring Black Style* exhibition will be open to the public from May 6 to October 26, 2025.
