Lewis Hamilton reignites Ferrari challenge: "Even if I win the title, I won't retire"

A new life
Lewis Hamilton seems truly rejuvenated, as seen in recent days between London and Fiorano, during his first “public” appearance as a Ferrari driver and behind the wheel of the new SF-25, the car he and Charles Leclerc will race this season. If, in the past few difficult years at Mercedes, the Brit had sometimes appeared relatively unmotivated and uneasy, this new Ferrari adventure has certainly given a fresh boost to the British superstar.
In an interview with Ferrari’s channel, he himself stated that he never expected to experience a “first time” at 40 years old, and his enthusiasm in the new environment, which he strongly chose, is evident. During the press conference in Fiorano, the seven-time world champion also renewed the challenge: his contract with Ferrari is a two-year deal with an option for a third year, and his intention is to honor it, regardless of the results.
No ‘early’ retirement
If anyone imagined Lewis Hamilton would be inclined to retire after securing his eighth World Championship on his first attempt with Ferrari, they've miscalculated: “If I had the luck to win another title, which is obviously our goal, I don't think I'll stop,” Sir Lewis declared. Clear and unmistakable words that firmly tie him to Ferrari's project.
But can Ferrari really aim for the title? The mere 14 points behind McLaren last year suggest they can, and the newcomer – who knows a thing or two about building a winning team – is more than convinced: “I've already worked with two teams that have won the title. I know what a winning team looks like. Here, there's a passion that has never been seen before,” Hamilton emphasized. “There are all the necessary ingredients to win a World Championship. It’s just a matter of putting all the pieces together. We have great leaders in Fred [Vasseur], John [Elkann], and Benedetto [Vigna]. They all have a very calm and positive approach: no one thinks ‘oh, we’re perfect in every area.’ We need to improve everywhere, and we are leaving nothing to chance in trying to do that.”
