There is still a month and a half until 2025, but Ferrari fans are already thrilled at the idea of seeing Lewis Hamilton dressed in red alongside Charles Leclerc.

The golden goose
The seven-time Formula 1 world champion, after a glorious stint with Mercedes lasting twelve seasons, will soon fulfill a lifelong dream in an attempt to secure the much-coveted eighth world title, which he lost in the dramatic finale of the Abu Dhabi GP in 2021. Achieving this would definitively establish him as the most successful driver in history.

“It’s a great move for Ferrari,” commented Martin Donnelly, who raced in Formula 1 in 1989 and 1990 with Arrows and Lotus, speaking about his compatriot’s transition to Maranello in an interview with RacingNews365 – “He will bring more than a billion in merchandising for the company. Few realize how much money they make with merchandising. It's also good for the sport.” – the British racing driver from Belfast, Northern Ireland, added.

Nonetheless, according to Martin Donnelly, Lewis Hamilton will not have an easy time against another favorite like Charles Leclerc: “I don't think he'll walk into Charles’s yard and take the ball away from him.” – he pointed out – “It won't be that easy. But it's good for the sport and for the fans, who will have someone else to cheer for. And it's also good for Lewis, especially after three years of issues with porpoising. At Interlagos, they were still suffering from this problem.”

“I don't think Leclerc will be easy to beat. He's fast. I'd say that on his best days, he's as quick as Lewis. Let's hope to see them leading in terms of points in the Constructors’ Championship, along with Red Bull.” – Martin Donnelly concluded.

We only have to wait a few more months to witness what is already shaping up to be one of the best, if not the best, pairings in the history of the Prancing Horse.
