Lewis Hamilton will follow in the footsteps of Michael Schumacher when he moves to Ferrari next year, becoming only the second driver in the Scuderia's history to be granted the privilege of residing in Enzo Ferrari's iconic house in Maranello.
This singular honor will mark a profound welcome for Hamilton, who, after leaving Mercedes, will embark on a new journey with the Italian outfit in 2025.
The rare right of residence bestowed upon the seven-time world champion underscores Ferrari's efforts to honor Hamilton's legacy and smooth his transition into Italian life as he prepares to wear the red suit of 'il Cavallino'.
Sky Sport Italia commentator Carlo Vanzini, a prominent voice for Italian motorsport fans, spoke of the gesture's significance, noting the rarity of the honor and its meaning for a driver of Hamilton's stature.
"Lewis will live in Enzo Ferrari's house," said Vanzini. "He'll have it as a base of support when he goes to Fiorano. Since the times of Schumacher, no driver has had this privilege.
"I also think it was the right choice, because I believe for a character like Lewis, to move publicly is already difficult."
Enzo Ferrari's house, an enduring symbol of the Commendatore's heritage, holds a special place in the hearts of Ferrari fans and the F1 community alike.
It was the vantage point from where Ferrari watched over his beloved creations as they were wheeled from the workshop to the Fiorano test track nearby.
The converted farmhouse remains in its original form, with its white-washed walls and red timber shudders, while inside, Enzo's personal office remains untouched since his death in 1988, including the old black-and-white television on which he would watch the Grands Prix in solitude on Sunday afternoons.

Michael Schumacher, whose achievement with Ferrari remains unparalleled, famously stayed in the same house during his years with the Scuderia, adding an almost mythical air to its history.
Piero Ferrari, Enzo's son, once shared stories of Schumacher's dedication, describing him as an incomparable champion.
"For sure, he was THE champion, Michael" Piero told former F1 world champion Damon Hill on Sky Sports F1. "Really was very professional, very brave, very intelligent.
"My father, for sure, would have been very happy to have a driver like him. You know Michael was sleeping here upstairs! I never saw a guy like him, really. So concentrated in what he was doing."
When Hamilton settles into his new home in Maranello, he will undoubtedly draw inspiration from the rich history of the Ferrari team and the legacy of its founder.
