Motorsport journalist confirms: "Hamilton Mania" has already started in Italy

Lewis Hamilton is the most successful driver in Formula 1, with his seven world titles and records for wins and pole positions. When, at the start of 2024, Ferrari announced that the British driver would join Charles Leclerc starting in 2025, many fans were shocked, and now, with only a few weeks left until the first green light of the season, the excitement for the British former Mercedes driver is growing more and more.

Italian journalist Roberto Chinchero, speaking on the “James Allen on F1” podcast, highlighted how a sort of “Hamilton Mania” has already begun in Italy.

It is known that Lewis will be at Fiorano next week, although no exact date has been confirmed yet. However, if the date were to leak, Roberto Chinchero is certain that the crowd of fans would be so massive it could cause problems for the authorities who would need to manage traffic. Below are some of his most important comments and impressions:

“Since the new year began, there’s a big question that Ferrari fans in Italy are trying to answer: when will Lewis Hamilton’s first test with a Ferrari car happen?” said Roberto Chinchero. “I can’t imagine how many people will be around the track. I expect the streets of Maranello and Fiorano to be packed with people. I expect something that hasn’t been seen in years. It will be a tough job for the Maranello police to manage.” – the Italian journalist pointed out.

The motorsport journalist and Formula 1 expert then concluded, saying: “But I’m not surprised because all national media, not just the sports ones, are giving a lot of coverage to Lewis Hamilton, telling the story of his career, his passion, and his desire and interest in finishing his career in red.”
