In the Chinese Grand Prix, for the first time this Formula 1 season, there was no Ferrari driver on the podium. A sign that convinced the Maranello engineers to bring forward to Miami some of the updates that were initially planned for Imola.

At the Shanghai circuit, Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz had to deal with some wrong setup choices, but more generally with an SF-24 single-seater that still struggles to bring the tires up to temperature.

A determining factor that convinced Maranello to push the accelerator. Therefore, part of the updates initially planned for the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix will make their debut in Miami.

New Ferrari floor in Miami:

In Florida, along with a new blue color scheme, the new floor will debut. This is, as mentioned, an anticipation of the package that will see the SF-24 revolutionized at Imola.

For the Italian stage, the Ferrari SF-24 car will be completely revised, with massive interventions in the area of the radiator intakes and the rear end.

Ferrari’s move is the first response to direct rivals Red Bull and McLaren. While in Milton Keynes they chose to update the RB20 already in Suzuka, the team led by Andrea Stella has opted for the Miami Grand Prix to change the face of the MCL38.

The Ferrari updates arrive at a crucial moment in the 2024 Formula 1 championship. In China, in fact, not only has Red Bull widened the gap against the Maranello team in the constructors’ standings, but Lando Norris has also managed to precede Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz.

From Maranello, however, there is a lot of confidence in view of the Miami Grand Prix. The Florida city seems to marry well with the characteristics of the SF-24 car which, strengthened by a new floor, not only aims to return to the podium but also to put some pressure on the two Red Bull cars of Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez.
