Oliver Bearman will be on track in Baku to replace Kevin Magnussen at the wheel of the Haas for the Azerbaijan Grand Prix weekend: here are the comments of the Ferrari Driver Academy member ahead of the Baku round.

After his race with Scuderia Ferrari at the Jeddah circuit in the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix, Oliver Bearman will return to the track during an F1 weekend, driving the Haas. For the young Ferrari Driver Academy member, this will be the first time he has the opportunity to drive a Formula 1 car for an entire weekend.

In fact, when Oliver Bearman raced with Ferrari, he didn't have the chance to compete for the whole weekend, as Carlos Sainz had to withdraw after the qualifying session. In that instance, the Englishman had only the race to take the wheel of the SF-24 single-seater.

In Jeddah, however, Oliver Bearman secured an excellent sixth-place finish for the Maranello team, which will be hard to replicate driving the Haas, but the challenge is open for the 19-year-old. In Baku, he was chosen to replace the disqualified Magnussen and will be in the Haas from the first free practice session. This serves as a perfect preview of next season when he will become a full-time driver for the American team.

Here are Oliver Bearman's comments ahead of his Formula 1 debut with Haas: "I'm excited to get back in a Formula 1 car and compete in my first full weekend. I've done FP1 with the team, but being able to build on that and actually do a whole weekend is a really exciting prospect." – the Ferrari junior explained.

“Last year, I did well in Baku, and it's definitely one of my favorite tracks to race on, so I'm really eager to get started. I've had some time in the simulator, and it's definitely a challenging track. The walls are very close, and in some spots, it's narrow, especially the famous castle section," he continues.

"This is another aspect to focus on—making sure to build up speed in the most measured way possible. I'm happy because I'll get to do a lot of laps in the car, as this will be my first full weekend, which I've never had the pleasure of doing before," Oliver Bearman concludes.
