The Azerbaijan Grand Prix was Oliver Bearman's second Formula 1 race as he awaits a full-time seat for next season. The English driver from the Ferrari Academy has already been confirmed as the next Haas driver and will be Esteban Ocon's teammate.

However, this season he has already had the chance to make his debut in official races even before securing his full-time spot. In fact, Baku was Bearman's second F1 race. At the beginning of the season, Ferrari called him up to replace Carlos Sainz in the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix. In this instance, the Englishman replaced the suspended Kevin Magnussen.

In that race, driving for Ferrari, Oliver Bearman secured a sixth-place finish on the streets of Jeddah, earning points in his very first official race. Now, with Haas, he has achieved a tenth-place finish on the (again) street circuit in Baku, once again finishing in the points.

The record lies in this fact: it is the first time in F1 history that a driver has finished in the points with two different teams in their first two official races. This is certainly a record that cannot go unnoticed, especially considering the significant differences between Ferrari and Haas.

This seems to be just the beginning for the young driver raised in the Ferrari Driver Academy. Oliver Bearman is proving that he deserves the Haas seat for next season and, despite being only 19 years old with just two seasons in F2, he is ready for the leap into the highest category of motorsport.

Oliver Bearman will be back on track in the 2024 Formula 1 season during the first free practice sessions of the Mexican GP and then the Abu Dhabi GP, unless he is called upon again to replace one of his veteran colleagues if needed.
