The news had been circulating for months but now it’s official: Oliver Bearman will be on the grid in 2025 with Haas. After allowing him to participate in several free practice sessions, the American team has decided to heavily invest in the young talent from the Ferrari Driver Academy, while waiting to see who will replace Kevin Magnussen. The Dane, also considering an unimpressive season so far, seems likely to leave Formula 1 at the end of the season.
Oliver Bearman’s admiration for Lewis Hamilton
“It’s hard to put into words what this means to me,” Oliver Bearman said, talking about his promotion to Formula 1. “Saying out loud that I will be a Formula 1 driver with Haas makes me immensely proud.”

The Englishman will have the chance to race against Lewis Hamilton, although he already had a taste of it at the beginning of the season at the Jeddah circuit in Saudi Arabia, when Oliver Bearman commendably replaced Carlos Sainz, scoring his first career points and finishing ahead of his great idol.
Speaking about his compatriot, Oliver Bearman shared a backstory about a video he received from Lewis in 2015, which played a decisive role in his growth: “It’s all crazy. Looking back, I received a video from him in 2015 or 2016 where he told me ‘keep pushing, I hope you can make it to F1 one day’. And here I am. I believe Lewis met a friend of my mother’s or something like that, and she got him to make a video. It was the best day of my life. And then it came back to me yesterday, I rewatched the video and it was a funny moment.”
“It’s crazy to share the track with these drivers I’ve been watching race. It’s very special and an emotional moment because these drivers are, in my eyes, great stars and people I admire. And it’s truly incredible that I will be sharing the circuit with them.” – the Ferrari junior concluded.
