The news, later denied, took everyone by surprise. According to some reports, Stefano Domenicali might leave F1 to join MotoGP and replicate the model that has been securing the Circus a highly promising present and future.

Since the arrival of the former Ferrari Team Principal, the premier class of four-wheel racing has seen its prestige grow exponentially. After years of declining fan engagement, Stefano Domenicali’s "new" F1 continues to receive requests for events from all over the world.

This was seen as a possible reason for his rumored switch to MotoGP, especially as Liberty Media, having recently acquired MotoGP, looks to revitalize a category suffering from declining viewership, partly due to the departure of Valentino Rossi.

Stefano Domenicali doubles down on F1's future
The MotoGP rumors were later denied by those involved, with Stefano Domenicali himself addressing the topic as a guest on Pirelli’s *Box Box Box* podcast, where he discussed F1's future. "Certainly, my current role has similarities to those I've held in the past," explained the former Ferrari leader while describing his position. "I am still responsible for a business and for the people who love this product."

"Of course, I sometimes miss the adrenaline and the sensations that racing gives you. But I believe there is a time for everything, and right now, I am in the right place," Stefano Domenicali added. "I still feel the adrenaline in trying to make all the historical fans and those new to Formula 1 happy. There are still many challenges to face. We must constantly stay connected with the teams and the media simultaneously."

"It's certainly impossible to predict what F1 will look like in thirty years. What's certain is that if we look back five years, it feels like we're talking about a completely different sport. In recent years, we've grown significantly, and I am confident that in the next thirty years, Formula 1 will be the world's greatest sports entertainment," Stefano Domenicali concluded.
