Summary of updates: all developments introduced by teams since start of 2024 F1 season ahead of Baku

With the curtain closing on Monza in Italy, Formula 1 leaves Europe, but updates will continue to arrive until the end of the year. It could not be otherwise with technical regulations remaining largely unchanged in 2025, making next year’s cars direct descendants of the current ones. With 8 Grands Prix still to be raced, more updates are expected from all teams, including those most active in recent weeks on the development front.

The news on return
Upon resuming the championship, McLaren and Ferrari have captured the spotlight not only for their victories at Zandvoort and Monza. In the Netherlands, the Woking team introduced their second major package of the season after Miami, with changes focused on the underbody and the front brake cooling ducts, also useful for tire thermal management. In Italy, it was Ferrari’s turn, with the Reds equipped with new bodywork and underbody to reduce sensitivity to bouncing.

Ferrari and McLaren, however, do not stop here, with their respective Team Principals announcing further updates, similar to Red Bull and Mercedes. The Woking and Maranello teams are also looking optimistically at the super-fast circuits of Baku and Las Vegas, having dedicated low-drag rear wings already used at Spa and Monza, unlike their competitors.

As for the second half of the grid, the last two rounds saw a new underbody for Racing Bulls and a new front wing for Haas. Sauber is also trying with a renewed underbody, while Williams fitted its car with its first real major package of the season.
