Toto Wolff believes Lewis Hamilton won't face major difficulties when he joins Ferrari

Lewis Hamilton won't face major difficulties when he joins Scuderia Ferrari, according to Toto Wolff. The Mercedes team principal expressed his disagreement with those who continue to talk about the challenges the British driver will face upon arriving in Maranello starting with the 2025 Formula 1 championship. Many have voiced their opinions, discussing Lewis Hamilton’s decision to switch to Ferrari. Some have mentioned his age (Lewis Hamilton will be nearing 40 when he joins Ferrari), others have pointed out the potential internal rivalry with Charles Leclerc, and some have highlighted the immense pressure that comes with the Ferrari environment.

Toto Wolff, on the other hand, believes the seven-time world champion won't struggle as much. “I think a lot of people say it will be really difficult. However, I firmly believe that when people say something will be really difficult, often the opposite is true.”

“Ferrari is a great team, with great people, a lot of emotion and passion, and yes, there's pressure. But I believe they'll find a way to work together. For this reason, I don't think Lewis will face all those difficulties that many have talked about,” added the team principal.

Someone like Toto Wolff knows Lewis Hamilton very well and understands exactly how he approaches the racing world. “I think we were fortunate to have Lewis Hamilton at Mercedes for the last 12 years. He will always be part of the Mercedes family.” – the Mercedes team principal added. – “Next year, though, we will certainly do everything we can to beat him. Having Kimi Antonelli with us is very exciting, and I know that together with George, they'll try to beat Lewis and his Ferrari. We will definitely miss Lewis, but we will be strong,” concluded Toto Wolff.
