MV Agusta carried their pre-season form into Round One as Bo Bendsneyder claimed his first pole of the year.

The first Superpole session of the 2025 World Supersport Championship saw four different manufacturers feature in the top five. But the dominant force from testing continued his form and snatched pole position.

After leaving Moto2 in the latter stages of 2024, Bo Bendsneyder has found a new home in World Supersport. The Dutch rider claimed pole position for the opening round of the season on his MV Agusta F3 800 RR.

British rider Tom Booth-Amos has started his 2025 season in the perfect way as he qualified in second place. Booth-Amos has remained with the PTR Triumph Factory Racing Team and placed his Triumph on the front row.

The third different manufacturer on the front row was Yamaha with its new Yamaha R9. It was Lucas Mahias on the GMT94 Yamaha who took the Japanese manufacturer to the front row.

In his debut weekend with the Yamaha bLU cRU Evan Bros Team, Can Oncu will start in fourth. The Turkish rider has switched from a Kawasaki to a Yamaha R9 for 2025 and has quickly adapted to his new machine.

The top Ducati in World Supersport was Valentin Debise in fifth place on the Renzi Corse machine. The Ducati Panigale V2 will still be competitive but ends the first qualifying session 0.414 seconds off pole.

Outside of the top five was Jaume Masia in sixth place in his World Supersport debut. The Spaniard was originally meant to ride in Moto2 this season but last minute changes placed him on a Ducati Panigale V2.

Home Hero, Oliver Bayliss, will start the Australian World Supersport round from seventh place on the grid. Bayliss has left Ducati and will compete for the PTR Triumph Factory Racing Team for the 2025 season.

The 2024 World Supersport runner-up, Stefano Manzi, has started his 2025 season in eighth place. The Italian has continued with Pata Yamaha Ten Kate Racing and will be targeting his first Supersport title.

Marcel Schroetter has left MV Agusta and has switched to WRP Racing and to a Ducati Panigale V2. The German rider had to watch his old bike claim pole as he qualified in ninth place.

Former World Superbike rider, Michael Ruben Rinaldi, ended his first Supersport Superpole session in tenth.
