Garrett Gerloff had a competitive first test of 2025 with the Kawasaki ZX-10RR.

At the 2025 Jerez World Superbike Test, Garrett Gerloff was able to test the Kawasaki ZX-10RR for the third time.

The American has seemingly adapted well to the Japanese manufacturer after spending two years with BMW. The 29-year-old had to deal with adverse conditions during the first test of 2025, but he was just glad to be back on the bike after the winter break.

"The wind has been pretty awful all day today," Gerloff told WorldSBK.com after the opening day of the test.

"So, it made it difficult to get a solid answer for the different setup changes that we were making. But all in all, it is just nice to be back on a bike again, finally after a pretty long winter in my opinion."

During the day Gerloff was given new forks by Showa for the Jerez Test, the new parts were crucial for Gerloff as he wants to be able to push the front end of his Kawasaki more in 2025.

"The biggest thing that I want is just a bit more ability to push on the front, I just want a bit more connection," Gerloff explained.

"It is not bad right now but we are trying some different stuff, Showa had some new forks to try that were carbon and that was pretty sweet.

"They had something else that we tried, it was not completely conclusive but I think the standard fork but with a different internal was the best one I tried. That felt good and it did improve how I felt with the wind so that was nice, but that was the main thing that we were doing.

"Brembo also has some new stuff that we weren't able to try, but that looks nice."
