'We were completely lost after the test' - Tom Booth-Amos turns his week around with a podium at Phillip Island

After a difficult Phillip Island Test, Tom Booth-Amos has achieved his second World Supersport podium.
British fans were left with something to cheer about after the opening races at Phillip Island. Tom Booth-Amos made his way onto the rostrum for the second time in his World Supersport career.
The British rider and PTR Triumph dealt with the blistering heat in Australia and produced a stunning race result.
"I think it was the same for everyone, it was so hot outside today, it is the hottest it has been since I have raced here," Booth-Amos told WorldSBK.com.
"It was a little bit tough after a long winter in the UK where it is not like this. But if you would have told me after the test on Tuesday that I would come away with a second I would have grabbed it with both hands.
"We were completely lost after the test to be honest, so credit to PTR Triumph they have worked hard over the last two days."
Booth-Amos went on to credit his PTR Triumph Factory Racing Team and their hard work over the winter for his ability to battle for the podium places.
"They have worked super hard over the winter, so to pay them back with a podium in the first race is quite special," Booth-Amos said.
"I only achieved one podium across the whole of last year so it is a credit to them and it is thanks to them and their hard work that we are here."
"Hopefully one better," Booth-Amos said when he was asked what his goal for Race Two is.
"But you never know. Now I know my pace and we know where we can be so we will try to do the same as today and take the most points home."
