2025 ARLINGTON SUPERCROSS PRE-RACE REPORT: INJURY REPORT, TV SCHEDULE & MORE

We head back to the red dirt of Texas for the seventh round of the 2025 Supercross series in Arlington. Cooper Webb has continued to stay consistent and now ties Chase Sexton for the points lead after Webb’s win in Detroit. Sexton has been up and down this season, he has two wins under his belt but also has had some results he would likely want to put in the past. Only one rider will leave Arlington with the red plate. In the 250 class, we go back to the West Coast division where Julien Beaumer leads by only two points over a consistent Jordon Smith. Haiden Deegan is also hanging in there and has a chance to move into the lead if he can get the job done this weekend. After a two-week break, it will be an all-out brawl for the points lead.

BATTLE FOR THE POINTS LEAD

Cooper Webb is tied in points with Chase Sexton for the lead.

The points battle has been extremely close this season and has had multiple red plate holders. Something Cooper Webb has always been good at is attacking when least expected. There’s a reason he has been champion multiple times in the past, and this year he’s proving that he still has the drive. Webb knows very well that to win a Supercross championship you have to play the long game. With a win in Detroit, his momentum is building, and we’re sure it’s making the other riders nervous.

Chase Sexton has consistently been one of the fastest riders on the track.

Chase Sexton has been continuously the fastest rider on the track in Detroit he ran down the whole pack from a dead last start and had the fastest lap times on the track. But he needs to minimize the mistakes if he wants to keep a grip on the championship. The opportunity has presented itself more than a few times for him to win. But Chase is also one of the hardest-working riders on the track and can overcome these challenges.

2025 ARLINGTON SUPERCROSS: RACE DAY SCHEDULE

The track looks good this weekend with a long start straight that leads into a technical rhythm section. Again this weekend we have a sand section that depending on how it is prepped can be a good spot for passing. A triple leading into the whoops will be challenging if they miss the triple they will be off rhythm for the whoops.

INJURED LIST:

HUNTER LAWRENCE – SHOULDER

Hunter joins his brother on the sidelines.

Hunter Lawrence has been diagnosed with a raised and partially torn labrum in his right shoulder, along with multiple cracks in his humerus bone. He had surgery on the labrum on Thursday, February 13, in Orange County, California, and because his expected recovery time is eight to 10 weeks, he is likely to miss the remainder of the Supercross season.

DAXTON BENNICK – CONCUSSION

Daxton started the season strong but should be back when East Coast racing returns.

Daxton Bennick was second place at the Tampa opener, but unfortunately, he had a practice crash during the week at the Star Racing training facility in Florida, and he suffered a concussion. He missed Detroit but plans to be back for round three of the 250SX East division in Daytona, March 1st.

ELI TOMAC – BROKEN FIBULA

Eli Tomac stayed tough the through the entire night of racing in Tampa even though he could be seen in visible pain. He even raced the 450 Main with a broken Fibula. He will not be returning in the foreseen future.

Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing’s Eli Tomac will sit out the upcoming rounds of Monster Energy AMA Supercross to recover from a broken leg sustained during qualifying at Round 5 of the championship last weekend in Tampa, Florida. It was initially thought to be an ankle sprain and bruised calf, but upon further evaluation after the weekend, it was discovered that he had a broken Fibula.

PIERCE BROWN – BACK

Pierce Brown had a tough crash while leading the race in Tampa which resulted in a T5 break to his back.

“I felt great all night, leading my heat and main. Halfway through the main, I crashed in the whoops and unfortunately broke my T5 vertebrae. I had surgery to get it fixed so that I could get back to racing. I want to thank all my family, friends, fans, and the team for all of their support.”

JETT LAWRENCE – KNEE

This is the moment of disaster for Jett Lawrence’s right knee.

Jett Lawrence had an incident a few weeks ago at the  Glendale Supercross when he dabbed his knee on the ground, resulting in a torn ACL. The defending champion immediately pulled off the track and was unable to finish. After an MRI on the following Monday, it became clearer that he had torn his ACL. Jett has already gone under the knife to get it repaired. He will be missing the rest of the Supercross season and it’s unlikely that he’ll be ready to race by the time the Pro Motocross season starts in May.

JORGE PRADO – SHOULDER

Jorge Prado will be out for the rest of the Supercross season.

Unfortunately, Jorge Prado dislocated his shoulder in qualifying at Anaheim 2 and he will miss the rest of the 2025 Supercross season. The World Champion returned home to Spain to get his shoulder repaired and he is now on the road to recovery.

Jorge Prado stated:“Bad news: Surgery is needed to fix my shoulder and I will be out for the rest of the Supercross season. The time of rehab is unknown and hopefully, I can make it to the start of outdoors. I will be back strong like I always do.”

FREDRIK NOREN — SHOULDER

Swedish rider Fredrik Noren will most of the rerst of the Supercross series with a shoulder injury but will  be back as back as soon as possible.

The ISRT Kawasaki team has announced that Fredrik Noren sustained a shoulder dislocation in Glendale but has no extensive damage. His plan is to be back at the races soon.

STILEZ ROBERTSON – WRIST

22-year-old Stilez Robertson has had a tough go with injuries.

Stilez Robertson sat out the entire 2024 season with a wrist injury. He was scheduled to race 250 East series for Triumph alongside Jalek Swoll, but things changed the week of Anaheim 1. Jalek got injured, and the team decided to switch Austin Forkner from West to East to fill Jalek’s void. They moved Stilez to the West division to accompany Jordon Smith. Sadly, Stilez aggravated his wrist at San Diego, and he sat out Anaheim 2 and Glendale in hopes of returning healthy for the Arlington Supercross on February 22nd.

RYDER DIFRANCESCO – DAMAGED INTESTINE, ARM

Ryder Difrancesco was fourth at Anaheim 1 and fifth at San Diego.

Sean Murphy, Team Manager for the Rockstar GasGas Team Manager said:“I am gutted that we share the news of Ryder D’s practice crash at RD Field yesterday. Ryder was immediately transported to the hospital, where he was evaluated for his injuries. In just his second year of racing Supercross, Ryder had been showing incredible potential and was making significant strides toward the podium. This setback early in the season is gut-wrenching, as Ryder was on an upward trajectory, improving with each round. Our rider’s safety and health will always be our top priority, and we will ensure that Ryder takes the necessary time to recover fully and come back stronger.”

Additionally, Ryder’s Mom, Lisa DiFrancesco, posted an update on Instagram: “Randy and I owe no explanations to Ryder’s injuries to anyone, and neither does the team. For those who are spreading and posting false information, please STOP; a simple prayer is more appropriate. I will, though, set the record straight. Ryder had a crash on his dirt bike the Thursday before A2. He suffered an injury to his small intestine, which was torn in two. The medical team had to remove some damaged intestine and his damaged appendix. They successfully reconstructed the intestine and put it back together. He also has a broken rib and arm, which are minor issues and the least of our worries compared to the rest. Ryder has been discharged from the hospital, is resting at home, and is on the path to recovery. To all those who have prayed for Ryder and sent heartfelt messages, thank you; Randy and I are very grateful. Ryder has an amazing team of people behind him that will help him return to racing his dirt bike.”

TY MASTERPOOL – FINGERS

Ty Masterpool overshot a triple in the “triple-quad” rhythm section at San Diego and he broke fingers in his hand. It is unclear if he will be racing in Arlington.

Ty Masterpool was brought onto Pro Circuit Kawasaki for outdoors last year as a fill-in rider, and he earned a factory ride for the 2025 season with the team. He was originally slated to race 250SX East, but when Levi Kitchen pulled out of Anaheim 1 at the last-minute with an illness, Ty was asked to come West and fill-in for Levi starting at San Diego. Unfortunately, his Supercross season didn’t get off to a great start, as he ended the night with broken fingers.

We expect Ty Masterpool to be back at the races soon.

TALON HAWKINS – FEMUR

Talon Hawkins had a scary crash at San Diego when he attempted to seat bounce into one of the larger rhythm sections, sending him off the back of the bike and on the ground hard. As a result, he ended up breaking his femur and will be out for the rest of the Supercross season.

NOAH VINEY – SHOULDER

MCR Honda rider Noah Viney cased the famous San Diego Supercross quad during qualifying and dislocated his shoulder. He tried to ride the next session, but he wasn’t able to do it. He will miss the remainder of the Supercross season.

JALEK SWOLL – ACHILLES

Jalek Swoll was originally supposed to race 250SX East, but now he will miss the Supercross season entirely.

Jalek Swoll sustained an Achilles tear while practicing on Tuesday before Anaheim 1. Because of this, Triumph knew he wouldn’t be back on the bike in time to race 250 East, and they didn’t want to put Stilez Robertson (fresh off season-long wrist injury) as their only rider on the 250 East Coast by himself. So, they pulled Austin Forkner from the West Coast lineup and moved him to be their lone rider representing Triumph on the East. It is not determined when we will see Jalek back on the bike.

CHRISTIAN CRAIG – KNEE

Christian Craig posted on X that he will not be racing at the start of the season as he would like to make sure his knee is fully recovered. He is questionable for the Arlington Supercross. However, he’s still been at the races helping out Haiden Deegan.

CASEY COCHRAN – LEG INJURY

Casey Cochran had a crash in the offseason where he unfortunately had broken his femur. He has recently been back on the bike, but it was reported that the injury was still lingering. It is unclear if he will be lining up in the near future.
