Honda HRC ha rafforzato ulteriormente la sua formazione per il campionato mondiale FIM Motocross 2025, basandosi sull’impressionante trio dell’anno scorso composto da Tim Gajser (MXGP), Ruben Fernandez (MXGP) e Ferruccio Zanchi (MX2). L’aggiunta di Valerio Lata (MX2) al team a novembre promette ancora più forza, con due piloti a bordo della Honda CRF450R e due sulla CRF250R. Questa formazione completa ha generato molto entusiasmo all’interno del team, mentre si prepara per quella che potrebbe essere una stagione di grande successo.
Naturalmente, questo non dovrebbe sorprendere se si considerano i riconoscimenti del cinque volte campione del mondo Gajser, che ha mancato di poco il suo sesto titolo all’ultimo round del 2024. Nonostante questa delusione, è stato in grado di riprendersi rapidamente e di esibirsi in una prestazione incredibile al Motocross delle Nazioni a Matterley Basin, andando uno-uno e ricordando rapidamente a tutti che sarà l’uomo da battere nella prossima stagione.
Fernandez si trova in una situazione diversa, dato che ha perso gran parte della campagna 2024, ma lo spagnolo ha dimostrato al suo ritorno di essere una forza da non sottovalutare, quando è tornato in piena forma e con una bassa stagione completa alle spalle, è pronto a mostrare la velocità che lo ha visto vincere al round di apertura della stagione 2023. E mentre la pista che visiteranno in Argentina per il primo round di quest’anno è diversa da quella in cui ha vinto, il numero 70 sa di cosa è capace ed è entusiasta all’idea di ricominciare da capo nel ’25.
Un esordiente nella classe MX2 l’anno scorso, Zanchi ha fatto un solido debutto nel programma 250cc reintrodotto da Honda HRC. Nonostante le sfide, il giovane italiano ha offerto diverse ottime prestazioni, concludendo infine al 10° posto nella classifica del campionato. Ora, con una stagione completa di esperienza e un ulteriore sviluppo della CRF250R, Zanchi è determinato a portare le sue prestazioni al livello successivo. Il trasferimento in Belgio durante l’inverno dimostra il suo impegno a migliorare ed è ansioso di mostrare la sua crescita sulla scena mondiale.
Valerio Lata, la nuova aggiunta al team, arriva con un impressionante curriculum di motocross europeo e la determinazione a continuare il suo successo nei campionati mondiali. Avendo già guadagnato un podio come pilota wildcard nel 2024, Lata ha dimostrato di avere la velocità necessaria per la classe MX2. Tuttavia, comprende le sfide di una stagione completa e ha utilizzato l’inverno per adattarsi alla moto, migliorando al contempo la sua forma fisica in preparazione per l’impegnativo programma di 20 round. Lata è impaziente di fare il suo debutto ufficiale con Honda HRC ed è entusiasta dell’opportunità di dimostrare il suo valore sulla scena mondiale.
Prima dell’inizio della stagione, il team si recherà a Mantova, in Italia, per gli Internazionali d’Italia il 9 febbraio, dando ai piloti la possibilità di partecipare ad alcune gare competitive prima che il campionato inizi sul serio. In seguito, i piloti sceglieranno tra gli eventi di Montevarchi (Italia), Sommieres (Francia) e Cadice (Spagna) per una preparazione aggiuntiva prima di recarsi a Cordoba, in Argentina, per l’apertura della stagione. Con una formazione forte e grandi aspettative, il team Honda HRC è pronto a mostrare le proprie capacità nel Campionato mondiale di motocross 2025.

Inizio quest’anno con un buon atteggiamento e con la convinzione di poter fare meglio del 2024. Ho fatto un sacco di cose buone l’anno scorso e ci sono andato molto vicino, quindi è stato deludente non esserci riuscito, ma ormai è il passato e posso solo concentrarmi sul futuro e su cosa posso fare per renderlo positivo. Sento che il mio allenamento invernale è andato bene, mi sento a mio agio con la bici e sono emozionato per la sfida che mi aspetta. Iniziamo e finiamo con nuove piste, e poi in mezzo ci sono tutte quelle che abbiamo già percorso in precedenza, quindi sarà un anno interessante e non vedo l’ora di iniziare.
Ruben Fernandez 70
Dopo l’infortunio al primo round dell’anno scorso, non sono riuscito a mostrare a tutti tutto il lavoro che avevo fatto fuori stagione. E anche alla fine, stavo solo scalfendo la superficie di quanto veloce credo di poter essere in molti round. Ora, il mio obiettivo è dimostrare quella velocità per tutta la stagione e sfidare i primi. Sono in una buona posizione, con brave persone intorno a me e anche questo è importante, quindi il mio obiettivo è divertirmi quando sono in pista. Se ci riesco, posso sicuramente ottenere dei buoni risultati.
Ferruccio Zanchi 73
Concludere la stagione con il mio miglior punteggio della stagione mi ha davvero dato una spinta in vista di quest’anno. Ha dimostrato che appartengo ai primi, e so che un altro inverno per abituarmi alla bici, per diventare più forte e in forma e semplicemente per essere meglio preparato per un campionato di 20 round renderà il 2025 un buon anno. Abbiamo lavorato in questi ultimi mesi per migliorare e ho anche apportato alcuni cambiamenti personali che credo aiuteranno. Certo, è facile dire tutte queste cose, ma devo andare là fuori e dimostrarlo e questo sarà l’obiettivo quando il cancello cadrà in Argentina.

È fantastico correre per Honda HRC nel 2025, ma dopo tutto il duro lavoro che ho fatto per arrivare a questo punto, so che non posso smettere di provarci ora. Ora devo continuare a spingere, soprattutto perché questa è una macchina completamente diversa da quelle che ho mai guidato prima. Tuttavia, dalla prima volta che l’ho guidata, sapevo che sarei stato bravo e, con tutti i test e gli allenamenti che abbiamo fatto, quella sensazione è cresciuta. Ho guidato praticamente su tutte le piste europee prima, ma sono molto emozionato di unirmi alla MX2 a tempo pieno e di correre in giro per il mondo e di avere la possibilità di provare Argentina, Cina, Indonesia e Australia per la prima volta.

Ruben è un pilota entusiasmante e dovrebbe avere la velocità per essere lì a sfidare costantemente quest’anno. Abbiamo quattro piloti che sono tutti in posizioni davvero interessanti nella loro carriera e che sono tutti molto motivati affinché quest’anno sia positivo. Tim ovviamente punta al suo sesto titolo mondiale, dopo esserci andato così vicino l’anno scorso, e penso che questo lo stimolerà davvero e lo renderà difficile da negare. Ruben si è infortunato così presto nel 2024 che non ha potuto dimostrare a nessuno di cosa fosse veramente capace, quindi ora ha la possibilità di farlo di nuovo e ha sicuramente delle buone piste in cui sfiderà per la vittoria. Poi abbiamo i due giovani nella classe MX2: Ferro ha avuto una buona campagna da esordiente ma ora vuole davvero spingere e combattere più in alto nel gruppo, mentre Valerio è il debuttante, ma ha già dimostrato di poter salire sul podio e vuole dimostrare di poterlo fare di nuovo. Tutto sommato, un grande gruppo di piloti che faranno tutti un ottimo lavoro rappresentando Honda HRC.

Honda HRC Strengthens Its Lineup for the 2025 MXGP Season
Honda HRC has bolstered its roster even further for the 2025 FIM Motocross World Championship, building on last year's impressive trio of Tim Gajser (MXGP), Ruben Fernandez (MXGP), and Ferruccio Zanchi (MX2). The addition of Valerio Lata (MX2) to the team in November promises even more strength, with two riders aboard the Honda CRF450R and two on the CRF250R. This well-rounded lineup has generated plenty of excitement within the team, as they prepare for what could be a highly successful season.
Of course, that shouldn't come as a surprise when you consider the accolades of five-time world champion Gajser, who narrowly missed out on his sixth title at the final round of 2024. Despite that disappointment, he was able to rebound quickly and put in an incredible performance at the Motocross of Nations in Matterley Basin, going one-one and quickly reminding everyone that he'll be the man to beat this coming season.
Fernandez is in a different situation, given how he missed a large portion of the 2024 campaign, but the Spaniard showed on his return that he is a force to be reckoned with, when he got back to full-fitness and with a complete off-season behind him, he's ready to show the speed that saw him take victory at the opening round of the 2023 season. And while the track they visit in Argentina for round one this year is different than the one he won at, the #70 knows what he is capable of, and is excited at the prospect of starting afresh in '25.
A rookie in the MX2 class last year, Zanchi made a solid debut in Honda HRC's reintroduced 250cc programme. Despite the challenges, the young Italian delivered several strong performances, ultimately finishing 10th in the championship standings. Now, with a full season of experience and further development of the CRF250R, Zanchi is determined to take his performance to the next level. Relocating to Belgium over the winter demonstrates his commitment to improving, and he is eager to showcase his growth on the global stage.
Valerio Lata, the newest addition to the team, arrives with an impressive European motocross resume and the determination to continue his success in the world championships. Having already earned a podium as a wildcard rider in 2024, Lata has proven he has the speed necessary for the MX2 class. However, he understands the challenges of a full season and has used the winter to adapt to the bike while enhancing his fitness in preparation for the demanding 20-round schedule. Lata is eager to make his official debut with Honda HRC and is excited about the opportunity to prove himself on the world stage.
Before the season kicks off, the team will head to Mantova, Italy, for the Internazionali D'Italia on February 9th, allowing the riders a chance to get in a few competitive races before the championship begins in earnest. Following that, the riders will choose from events in Montevarchi (Italy), Sommieres (France), and Cadiz (Spain) for additional preparation before traveling to Cordoba, Argentina, for the season opener. With a strong lineup and high expectations, the Honda HRC team is ready to showcase their capabilities in the 2025 World Motocross Championship.

I'm coming into this year with a good attitude and with the confidence that I can go one better than in 2024. I did a lot of good things last year, and came very close, so it was disappointing to miss out but that is the past now and I can only focus on the future and what I can do to make it a good one. I feel like my winter training has gone well, I'm comfortable with the bike and I'm excited for the challenge ahead. We start off, and finish with new tracks, and then in between them are all ones we've ridden before, so it'll be an interesting year and one I can't wait to get going.
Ruben Fernandez 70
After the injury at the first-round last year, I didn't get to really show everyone all the work I'd done in the off-season. And even at the end, I was only just scraping the surface of how fast I believe I could've been at a lot of rounds. Now, my aim is show that speed throughout the season, and challenge up the front of the field. I am in a good place, with good people around me and that is also important, so my goal is enjoy myself when I'm out on the track. If I can do that, I can definitely get some good results.
Ferruccio Zanchi 73
Finishing off the season with my best points tally of the season, really gave me a boost coming into this year. It proved that I belong at the front of the field, and I know that another winter of getting used to the bike, of getting stronger and fitter, and just of being better prepared for a 20-round championship will make 2025 a good year. We have been working throughout these past few months to improve and I've also made some changes personally that I believe will help too. Of course, it is easy to say all these things, but I have to go out there and show it and that will be the aim when the gate drops in Argentina.
Valerio Lata 18
It is great to be riding for Honda HRC in 2025, but after all the hard work I've done to get to this point, I know I can't stop trying now. Now, I have to keep pushing, especially as this is a completely different machine than I have ever ridden before. Still, from the first time I rode it, I knew that I would be good on it, and with all the testing and training we've done, that feeling has grown. I have ridden pretty much all the European tracks before, but I'm very excited to be joining the MX2 full-time and racing around the world and getting the chance to experience Argentina, China, Indonesia and Australia for the first time.

I am really excited for the 2025 world motocross season, and seeing four Honda HRC riders on the gate across the two classes. Tim has been a great representative for our brand for a long time now and has been the ultimate professional and I hope he can get his sixth world title. Ruben is an exciting rider and one that should have the speed to be up there challenging on a consistent basis this year. Then we have the two young MX2 riders, Ferruccio and Valerio who have a lot of potential on our Honda CRF250Rs, so I will be paying a lot of attention to their results. I want to wish all four riders the best of luck and hopefully I will make it to some rounds to support them.

Everyone at Honda HRC is really excited for the 2025 season. We have four riders who are all at really interesting positions in their career, and who are all highly motivated for this year to be a good one. Tim is obviously aiming for his sixth world title, after coming so close last year, and I think that'll really spur him on and make him tough deny. Ruben got injured so early in 2024 that he didn't really get to show anyone what he was truly capable of, so now he's got the chance to do that all over again, and he definitely has some good tracks where he'll be challenging for the win. Then we have the two youngsters in the MX2 class – Ferro had a good rookie campaign but now wants to really push on and fight further up the field, while Valerio is the rookie, but has already shown he can get on the podium, and wants to prove he can do it again. All in all, a great group of riders who will all do a great job representing Honda HRC.
