Watch: Mercedes-AMG CLE 63 Sounds Like A V8, But Something's Missing

The Mercedes-AMG CLE 63 is apparently nearing its official debut, as we're seeing prototypes wearing less and less camouflage testing out on the road. And given its close relation to the Mercedes-Benz C-Class, many AMG aficionados are wondering whether it'll get the same turbocharged, plug-in hybrid four-cylinder as the sedan's hottest variant. The latest video evidence, taken from the Nürburgring and embedded below, seems to confirm our earlier reporting that the automaker will indeed put a V8 under the hood of its slinky, sporty coupe, although it must be said that the exhaust doesn't quite have the crackle we've come to expect of a Mercedes wearing the "63" badge.
