"SATURDAY AT THE GLEN" RACE REPORT: MEDEIROS, STAPLETON, FOUT & BUSHNELL

Coming off of a great weekend at the 2025 World Two-Stroke Championships, where Brian Medeiros won the Over-30 Expert class and scored a ninth in the Pasha Open Pro class, Brian was still on a high when he came to Glen Helen for the weekly “Saturday at the Glen” race. He won the 250 Pro class and passed most of the riders in the 450 Open class in the process.

MXA’s Josh Fout (37) shocked his MXA teammates when the rain starting coming down. They couldn’t maintain his pace in the slop and his 2-2 gave him the win over teammates, Shawn Bushnell (1-3) and Dennis Stapleton (6-1). Josh Fout would also win the Over-30 Expert class.
MXA’s Dennis Stapleton (171) is trying to race more often to get ready for the Mammoth Mountain Motocross. He was third in the Open Expert class and second overall in the 450 Pro class.
Shawn Bushnell (35) was second in the Open Expert class and first in the Over-40 Experts.
Dakota Garner (261) was having a good day until he over-cooked the corner at the end of the sand canyon and crashed big-time. He decided to call it a day after that crash.
The first turn on the “Saturday at the Glen” track is wide, steeply banked and not crowded. MXA’s Dennis Stapleton (171) has the holeshot over MXA’s Shawn Bushnell (35), MXA’s Josh Fout (37), Kyle Kellet (121), Dakota Garner (261) and Ricky Richards (45).
Tyler Nichols (55) went 1-2 in the 450 Intermediate class, but got beat by Marshall Tomei’s 2-1. Once you run out of tear-offs in the drizzle, it’s time to tuck your goggles into the crook of your elbow and start avoiding roost.
Rich Stuelke (18) came to race, but when it started to rain, he decided to load his bike into his van, but when the rain stopped he decided to race and unloaded his bike, but when he saw how muddy the track was just before going to the starting line, he decided not to race. This photo was shot during practice.
Kyle Kellet (121) shows how muddy it got during the peak rain periods. Kyle went 1-2 in the Over-30 Intermediates and 1-1 in the Open Intermediates.
Bode Bushnell (75) shows how much drier the track was at its higher elevations where the water ran off quickly. Bode went 1-1 for the win in the 125 Novice class.
Patrick Aiple (212) went 6-1 in the 450 Beginner class.
This downhill right hand sweeper was especially treacherous in the rain.
Gary Taylor (93) finally got a motocross bike after years of racing motocross on his off-road bike.
Dave Eropkin (711) went 1-1 in the Over-65 Intermediate class.
Marc Crosby (95) was fifth in the Over-65 Intermediate class on MXA’s 2025 KTM 350SXF.
Tim Hoole (40) took his GasGas MC125 to a second in the first moto, but DNFed the second moto of the Over-65 Intermediates.
With the storm clouds breaking up over the San Bernardino Mountains, Randy Skinner (83) is still recovery from the major concussion he suffered back in January, but he is back racing again.
Sheridan Gardner (95) concentrates in the 50cc Pee-Wee class, with Nolan Zalamea in pursuit.
When it really started pouring during the PW50 YZinger race, the flag men laid down the yellow flags and pushed the youngster up the hills, which were really just jump faces.
Jody Weisel spent the 1970s racing in Texas, where unlike in SoCal, they don’t get three days warning that it is going to rain, which is why he always has a rain coat to go along with his shorts.
