Derrick Finley has been named crew chief for Ryan Preece and the No. 60 team at RFK Racing.
Finley joined RKF Racing in 2022 and was the crew chief of the No. 60 team when it ran select races under the Stage 60 program. The car entered three races in 2024: the Daytona 500 with David Ragan (main image), Sonoma Raceway with Cam Waters, which was his series debut, and the Chicago street course with Joey Hand.
The team is now a full-time third entry for RFK Racing with the addition of Preece to the lineup.
"We're thrilled to have Derrick lead the No. 60 team," said RFK driver and co-owner Brad Keselowski. "His experience and technical knowledge of the sport will play a crucial role in the initial development and growth of the No. 60 team."
Throughout his NASCAR career, Finley has held a variety of roles for different teams. Those include director of operations, technical director and competition director. He earned a mechanical engineering degree from the University of New Mexico.
"I am incredibly excited to lead the No. 60 team," said Finley. "I'm looking forward to working with Ryan and the entire team. It's a great opportunity to help start up a new team as we continue to grow at RFK Racing."
Preece joins RFK Racing after two seasons with Stewart-Haas Racing. It will be the first time he and Finley have worked together.
"Derrick will be a big help in getting the team integrated in the RFK processes" Preece said. "His experience with the procedures the organization has in place will help lay the foundation for the No. 60 car."
