National Fire Protection Association sponsoring Joey Gase at Phoenix

The National Fire Protection Association® (NFPA®) and Joey Gase Motorsports with Scott Osteen are teaming up for a third year to promote fire safety awareness across the United States.

Starting this week, NFPA will be collaborating with the Gase/Osteen team throughout the year in support of Fire Prevention Week™, October 5-11, 2025, beginning with the 2025 NASCAR Xfinity Series (NXS) event at the Phoenix Raceway on Saturday, March 8 at 3:00 p.m. Gase will be racing in car #53, and Sparky the Fire Dog®, the official mascot of NFPA, will be on-site to raise awareness and celebrate with race fans.

"Our collaboration with Joey Gase has provided a valuable opportunity for raising fire safety awareness among NASCAR fans and communities across the U.S.," said Lorraine Carli, vice president of Outreach and Advocacy at NFPA. "We‘re excited to expand these efforts in 2025 to share potentially life-saving messages as we approach Fire Prevention Week, the largest NFPA public awareness campaign of the year."

NFPA and Gase will also collaborate at upcoming NASCAR NXS races at Atlanta Motor Speedway; Daytona International Speedway; Bristol Motor Speedway; Kansas Speedway; and Charlotte Motor Speedway. Details about these events and associated activities will be shared in the months ahead.

The continued prevalence of U.S. home fires indicates the critical importance of education around home fire prevention and protection. According to the latest NFPA data, in 2023, there were an estimated 332,000 home structure fires resulting in 2,890 civilian deaths, 10,190 injuries, and $11 billion in direct property damage. Civilian deaths and injuries increased by nearly 7 percent and 3 percent, respectively, from 2022 to 2023, despite a nearly 8 percent decrease in home structure fires, underscoring the need for continued public education on fire safety through a variety of methods and platforms.

“I‘m thrilled to be teaming up with NFPA again to remind people that home fires can and do still happen on a daily basis, often with devastating impacts," said Joey Gase, owner and driver for Joey Gase Motorsports. "It‘s important to be proactive around home fire safety to save lives and reduce loss, and I hope that our collaboration will continue to motivate people throughout the country to take action and be prepared."

Fire Prevention Week is celebrated throughout America every October and is the oldest U.S. public health observance on record. For more than 100 years, Fire Prevention Week has worked to educate people about the risk of home fires and ways to minimize them. Local fire departments, schools, and community organizations play a key role in bringing Fire Prevention Week to life in their communities each year and spreading basic but critical fire safety messages.
