The Ford Everest line-up has been updated with the return of a household power socket last offered in 2021 – while the revision coincides with the arrival of the off-road-themed Tremor variant.

  • Automatic parking system deleted from Everest Platinum
  • Priced from $54,240 before on-road costs

The 2025 Ford Everest family SUV line-up will arrive in Australia late next month with the re-introduction of a household power socket.

Following the Ranger ute the Everest is based on, Ford has added a 240-volt, 400-watt power outlet to Trend, Sport, Tremor and Platinum variants for the new model year after the feature was deleted from the previous-generation vehicle three years ago.

As Drive revealed in January 2022, Ford Australia was forced to remove the household power socket – used to power devices like laptop computers and travel fridges – from the Ranger, Everest and Transit in mid-2021 after a regulatory trip-up.

Ford Australia discovered the international power socket in these vehicles did not meet the AS/NZS 3112 Standard ('Approval and test specification for plugs and socket-outlets'), which requires a socket to match an Australian plug pattern, not a universal configuration.

While the feature has been absent from the Everest since mid-2021, it has returned from Model Year 2025.25 onwards with an Australian plug pattern to ensure it meets local regulatory requirements.

Ford Australia has also added an acoustic windscreen to the entry-level Everest Ambiente to reduce road noise – while there's a new off-road-themed variant with the addition of the Everest Tremor, and “minor changes” to the interior trim and appearance across the range.

Based on the mid-range Sport trim, the Everest Tremor was announced in August with similar off-road tweaks as the Ranger Wildtrak X and Tremor utes, such as a 26-millimetre suspension lift and Bilstein shock absorbers.

It also features light-truck General Grabber AT3 tyres, black 17-inch alloy wheels, a steel bash plate, heavy-duty side steps, and a 'Rock Crawl' drive model – while buyers can select a $3500 Rough Terrain Pack which includes an ARB Stealth bull-bar and additional underbody protection.

However compared to the Sport variant it is based on, the Tremor loses heated and ventilated front seats and the driver's seat memory function, and moves from an eight-way power passenger seat to four-way manual adjustment.

Meanwhile, the Everest Sport has lost two speakers – now sharing its eight-speaker setup with the Ambiente and Trend, as opposed to its previous 10-speaker system – and its Everest bonnet lettering and Sport door badges has been removed.

Ford has also deleted the Active Park Assist automatic parking system from the top-of-the-range Everest Platinum – which can autonomously enter into and leave a car park – following a global cost-cutting move announced earlier this year.

There are no changes to the cost of the Everest Ambiente and Trend – or any option packs – for 2025, while the Sport has risen by $900 and the Platinum is up $85.

The 2025 Ford Everest will commence production for Australia this month, with the first customer deliveries due in late December.

The last model update for the Ford Everest was in January 2024 when the Pro Trailer Backup Assist reversing system was made available, while exterior zone lighting and black stand-off roof rails were added to the standard equipment list for Trend and Sport variants.

All models lost the MyKey programming safety feature and the under-bumper kick sensor for the electric tailgate – while the two-wheel-drive Trend variant was removed from the line-up.

The automatic high-beam feature was also removed from the Everest Ambiente, Trend and Sport, and is now limited to the Platinum with its more-advanced matrix LED headlights.
