Australia’s new-car market is about to get a lot busier in 2025. Here’s every new car launching this year – and beyond.

Demand for new cars are not as strong as it was at the start of 2024 – but for Australians looking to buy a new vehicle in 2025, there’s never been a better time to be in the market.

An unprecedented number of new brands are bound for local showrooms in 2025, set to make what is already one of the world’s most competitive new-car markets even busier.

Nearly all hail from China – from Geely to Leapmotor – but there is plenty of new-car launch activity on the horizon from European, Japanese, American and even other Chinese manufactures to look forward to.

Among 2025’s most hotly-anticipated arrivals are a flock of utes, from the conventionally-powered but not conventionally-styled Kia Tasman diesel, to plug-in hybrids in the Ford Ranger PHEV and customer deliveries of the BYD Shark 6.

Families ready to go electric can anticipate the BYD Sealion 7, Volkswagen ID.4 and updated Tesla Model Y, while those who aren’t may want to wait for the refreshed Kia Sportage, GWM Haval H6 and Cupra Terramar.

For performance-car fans there is the new BMW M5 Touring, hybrid Porsche 911, and last-of-the-line Toyota GR Supra Track Edition, and for luxury-car customers the new Audi Q5, BMW X3 and expanding Cadillac range.

Here is Drive’s guide to every model confirmed (or expected) to launch in Australia in 2025 and beyond, correct as of the date below.

We will update this story progressively throughout the year with new models and updated dates, as they come to hand. However, as always, production interruptions and shipping delays across the car industry mean the information below is subject to change.

LAST UPDATE: 1 January 2025

Note: ‘Quarters’ refer to three-month periods throughout the calendar year – so January to March (first quarter), April to June (Q2), July to September (Q3) and October to December (Q4). ‘MY’ refers to model year.
