The new model will debut Skoda’s new design language, and is set to take on the Hyundai Kona Electric, Kia EV3 and BYD Atto 3.

Skoda has released a teaser images of the upcoming 2025 Skoda Elroq electric small SUV, ahead of a reveal later this week and Australian arrival in July 2025.

The Elroq, which is the third fully electric model from the Czech carmaker (after the Enyaq and Citigo iV), will be revealed in the early hours of Wednesday 2 October (Australian time), with the event in Prague planned to be live-streamed on Skoda’s Instagram channel.

The Elroq will debut Skoda’s new ‘Modern Solid’ design language, and will be underpinned by the Volkswagen Group MEB electric car platform.

While many details surrounding the Elroq are yet to be confirmed, Skoda has previously indicated an electric driving range of up to 560 kilometres, up to 175kW of DC charging speed and a 470L boot.

Electric motor outputs are said to range from 125kW to 220kW, and battery sizes range from 55kWh to 82kWh of gross capacity.

The 2025 Skoda Elroq will be either rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive, depending on specification.

The Elroq will play an important role for Skoda in Australia, as it continues to add more electric vehicles and to their line-up in Australia, while updating their existing range of models.

The new electric car will follow the arrival of new-generation Kodiaq and Superb vehicles in 2025, along with a facelifted Octavia RS. The smaller Epiq electric SUV is also slated for Australia, but with no firm arrival date announced yet.

There will also be a fully electric electric seven-seat SUV from Skoda in the next couple of years, which was previewed by the Vision 7S concept.
