Second Place for McLaren's Lando Norris – Oscar Piastri duo
The 2025 Formula 1 season introduces significant changes in the driver market compared to last year. The standout move is undoubtedly the “deal of the century,” which brought Lewis Hamilton to Ferrari. This dramatic twist forced Carlos Sainz to find a new seat, landing at Williams alongside Alexander Albon.

Mercedes, in turn, had to secure a replacement for Lewis Hamilton to partner George Russell. Team principal Toto Wolff chose Italian driver Andrea Kimi Antonelli. Red Bull also opted for change: after four years, Sergio Perez will no longer share the garage with Max Verstappen, as Liam Lawson takes his place.

Among the top teams, McLaren is the only one to retain its 2024 driver lineup. Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri will represent the papaya colors for the third consecutive year, surprisingly defending the Constructors' Championship title.

Formula 1's official social media channels polled fans on the best driver pairing for the 2025 grid. Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc came out on top with 56% of the votes. Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri followed in second place with 29%, while Max Verstappen and Liam Lawson rounded out the podium with 6%. The Red Bull duo narrowly edged out the Williams pairing, as Alex Albon and Carlos Sainz received 5% of the votes. George Russell and Kimi Antonelli placed fifth, garnering 1% of the votes.
