Lewis Hamilton in Red
Over ten months have passed since the sensational announcement of Lewis Hamilton's move to Ferrari starting in 2025, and the long wait is soon coming to an end. In January, the seven-time world champion will officially arrive in Maranello, beginning to familiarize himself with the team's methodologies and integrating into the world of the Prancing Horse. There is, of course, immense media anticipation for this dream pairing and curiosity about whether Hamilton's speed and motivation can outweigh the limitations of his age.

In an extensive interview with Autosprint, Frederic Vasseur naturally touched on the arrival of the English champion: "With Lewis, it's not just a matter of speed or pure performance. He brings the experience of a seven-time world champion who has worked with top teams. It's very positive for a team to have someone who brings different experiences, especially at Lewis's level. We need to have the right approach and take advantage of his expertise. It's always important to try to learn from someone who comes from outside, whether it's Hamilton or anyone else. I know Hamilton very well, I know his motivations and his way of working. I don't want to make comparisons with other drivers, but I am convinced he will fit perfectly into our system." – the French manager pointed out.

Why Lewis Hamilton?
Frederic Vasseur was also asked to comment on Mercedes' decision to entrust Lewis Hamilton's replacement to a rookie like Antonelli: "I don't claim to have the arrogance to comment on other teams' choices. I think there's no rule for such decisions; you have to do what's best for your specific context at a given moment. I believe Hamilton is the best solution for us today, especially with the regulatory changes coming in 2026. F2, I think, is excellent preparation, and Kimi Antonelli will be well-prepared, given the many kilometers he has completed with TPC cars. But for us, Hamilton was necessary," concluded the French manager.
