The first day on track in Barcelona for Lewis Hamilton’s Ferrari began at 9:00 AM: the Englishman, along with his teammate Leclerc, will spend three days on the Spanish circuit as part of the TPC tests, which had already begun in Fiorano.

January 28, 29, and 30: the Prancing Horse is determined to meticulously prepare every detail for the World Championship, which will start in Melbourne in March. Fred Vasseur is not satisfied with just the pre-season tests in Bahrain, but wants to deepen the mutual understanding between the team and driver as thoroughly as possible.

Ferrari, Hamilton, and Leclerc on Track: TPC Tests Begin in Barcelona
Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc will take to the track during the three-day session, which began at 9:00 AM on Tuesday, January 28, to complete the TPC tests that started in Fiorano in recent days. This type of test (Testing Previous Cars) allows teams to accumulate experience and mileage, with a total of 1000 kilometers per driver.

During the days spent aboard the Ferrari SF-23, the new teammates under the Prancing Horse will continue the work begun in Fiorano. Lewis Hamilton still has about 911 kilometers available for the TPC tests, while Charles Leclerc, having completed fewer laps than the British driver on the Emilia circuit, will be able to complete an additional 958 kilometers behind the wheel of the 2023 red car.

The first day on track at the Catalunya circuit started with Lewis Hamilton behind the wheel under a clear sky. The temperature in Barcelona is around 12°C, and #44 can continue his learning process with engineers, mechanics, and the entire team.

The three-day TPC session that began this morning at Montmelo will not be the only opportunity for Sir Lewis to drive the red car before the official tests in Bahrain at the end of February. Ferrari will not finish its work in Barcelona at the end of Thursday, January 30, but will remain in Catalonia. Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc will return to the track on Tuesday, February 4, and Wednesday, February 5, this time for a Pirelli test, again with the SF-24, last season's car.
