With 24 GPs currently on the calendar and Formula 1 continually breaking records in popularity, TV viewership, and sold-out events, demand from organizers grows exponentially each year.

Although the Concorde Agreement allows an increase in events to 25, Formula 1 seems to have found a balance with the current number of Grands Prix. To accommodate the numerous requests from various organizers, there will inevitably be a need for rotation.

Stefano Domenicali's Next Target
This is Stefano Domenicali’s plan, as he recently confirmed during a call with Liberty Media shareholders that major changes are coming regarding the rotation of certain European GPs. "We have some very, very soon-to-be-shared news about the possibility, in the medium term, of having European Grands Prix on a rotating basis and other new options."

"This is an aspect that we will clarify in due time," added the Italian manager.

"It is true that we have a high demand from new locations wanting to join. Our choices will always balance the right economic advantages we can achieve as a system, while also leveraging growth in markets where we see potential, benefiting our business growth."

"We believe that the balance we have in terms of numbers is just right; 24 is the balanced figure we consider suitable. I believe that all the proposals coming to us allow us to make even better choices for our future."

"So, as always, we need to remain balanced, knowing that we can't simply follow the direct financial offer, which varies from region to region. It is up to us to present the right choice to our shareholders."

Finally, Stefano Domenicali concluded, "I think we are in a good position to ensure that our future strategy is even stronger. This is why we are confident that this will help enhance our platform from a sporting, social, and commercial perspective."

What are the next new entries?

Recently, there has been talk of a possible return of Argentina to the calendar, especially following the media attention around Franco Colapinto, as well as a strong interest from Rwanda, which will host the next FIA prize-giving ceremony.
