The amusing incident was revealed in a lighthearted video shared on social media by Ferrari. The Scuderia showed the exact moment during a recent photoshoot for the new Puma racing suits when Leclerc, bending down, heard the dreaded “crack”—the unmistakable sound of fabric tearing.
Ferrari's social media video "I ripped the suit," Charles Leclerc comments, slightly embarrassed, in the moments following the mishap. "Maybe because I ate too much food during the holidays…" In reality, the Monegasque's fitness is not in question, as he had just finished grueling training camps, the intense workout routines all Formula 1 drivers undergo during the winter break before getting back behind the wheel.
The real reason behind the “rip” isn't excessive Christmas ice cream, as Charles Leclerc himself explains in the latter part of the video, which has such a comedic tone that it quickly went viral on social media: "The suit we use for these studio shoots is tighter than usual, to make us look even more in shape." Not surprisingly, shortly after, he struggles to sit down on a Pirelli tire, squeezed into his suit: "I have a lot of posing limitations." After all, it was never in doubt that someone like Charles Leclerc would feel far more comfortable in a race car than in front of the cameras…
