Jeremy Alcoba has undergone successful hand surgery ahead of his switch to World Supersport.

After spending five years in the MotoGP paddock Jeremy Alcoba will switch to World Supersport in 2025. The Spaniard was in Moto3 for two seasons and Moto2 from 2022 until the end of 2024.

However, the end of his final season in Moto2 did not go as planned. Alcoba crashed during the Malaysian Grand Prix in his penultimate race for the Yamaha VR46 Master Camp Team and broke three metacarpal bones on his left hand.

Alcoba will join Puccetti Kawasaki for the 2025 World Supersport campaign, making his debut in the Championship. The 23-year-old will pilot the new 2025 Kawasaki ZX-6R with its new 636cc engine.

But it is unclear when the Spaniard will get to test his new Kawasaki. After undergoing successful surgery his timeline will become more clear, but as of now, he may not get to test the bike before the start of the new year.

"The operation was successful - thank you to Dr. Mir and the entire medical team for their great work," said Alcoba. "Now I have to get to work so that I can recover as quickly as possible and prepare for the upcoming season."
