Tom Booth-Amos discusses his first World Supersport victory

For the first time in his World Supersport career, Tom Booth-Amos has stood on top of the rostrum.
The 2025 World Supersport season is Tom Booth-Amos' fourth year in the class and his second season with PTR Triumph.
However, the British rider has had his best start to a Supersport season yet, as he walks away from Phillip Island with a second place and his first Supersport race win.
"It is a huge weight lifted off my shoulders to finally get the win," Booth-Amos said after Race Two.
"After the podium last year, I was happy, but as a racer, you always want to win. It is nice to finally get that here and to pay back my team for all their hard work over the winter."
The only negative from Booth-Amos' performance on Sunday was his slow pit stop during Race Two. But the 28-year-old has taken all the blame for losing time in pit lane.
"I am just not the best at counting to be honest," he joked when asked about his slow pit stop.
"It tells me on the dash but I can never work out how early I can leave the pit lane. If we ever have to do this again in the future I will have to work on it."
Booth-Amos went on to repeat his feelings of shock that he also had after finishing second on Saturday. The British rider never expected to battle at the front this weekend after having a difficult test earlier in the week at Phillip Island.
"Honestly, I would not have expected after the test at the beginning of the week because I was completely lost," Booth-Amos explained.
"I was struggling and thankfully the team turned it around and now I think we are jointly leading the Championship, it is the best start possible."
