Clancy Brown, Luke Cook to serve as Co-Grand Marshals for the GOVX 200

Phoenix Raceway announced today that Clancy Brown and Luke Cook, co-stars of The CW‘s Good Cop/Bad Cop, will serve as the co-grand marshals for the GOVX 200 NASCAR Xfinity Series Race. The highly-acclaimed actors will give the command to start engines for the race at 3 p.m. MST, which airs nationwide on The CW Network.
"We‘re honored to have Clancy Brown and Luke Cook say the most famous words in motorsports ahead of the GOVX 200," said Phoenix Raceway President Latasha Causey. "The wide-ranging talent and prowess possessed by both actors will provide our fans a thrilling start to an exciting race."
Clancy Brown began his acting career in Chicago theater and continued to perform on stage locally until he won the role of Viking in the 1983 feature film Bad Boys. He has gone on to star in many motion pictures; among them is the Oscar® winning film Promising Young Woman, the multiple Oscar® nominated film The Shawshank Redemption, as well as John Wick 4, Chappaquiddick, Thor: Ragnarok, Cowboys and Aliens, The Guardian, Starship Troopers, Blue Steel, Shoot to Kill, Extreme Prejudice, and the cult classic Highlander.
Some of Brown‘s recent television credits include Dexter New Blood, in what has become Showtime‘s most watched show. Previously he starred in HBO‘s Emmy® award-winning series Carnivale, and the NBC series Earth 2. He has also had major recurring roles on Billions, The Goldbergs, Chicago P.D., Sleepy Hollow, and ER. He guest starred as LBJ on the hit Netflix series The Crown and has played numerous characters throughout the Star Wars universe.
Brown also is a prolific voice actor, highlighted by voicing "Mr. Krabs," for the past 25 years in Nickelodeon‘s iconic hit series SpongeBob SquarePants. He is a fan-favorite in the DC Animation Universe for his portrayal of Lex Luthor and as the inimitable Detective Hank Anderson in Quantic Dream‘s popular game Detroit: Become Human. Most recently he has been heard on Amazon‘s animated series, Invincible.
Luke Cook, originally from Australia, is arguably best known for his work on The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina for Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa and Netflix. Luke starred as "The Dark Lord" who appeared to Sabrina (Kiernan Shipka) as the fallen angel Lucifer. Following CAOS, Luke simultaneously recurred on Katy Keene opposite PLL star Lucy Hale and Dynasty for the CW. He also recurred on the last season of Hulu‘s Dollface as a new love interest opposite Kat Dennings. His additional TV credits include How to Get Away with Murder, Baby Daddy, Modern Family, Faking It, Major Crimes, and The Librarians.
Luke made his feature film debut with a role in James Gunn‘s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2. His additional feature credits include the indie films How Do You Know Chris, Eye Without a Face, and most recently, Follow Her.
Good Cop/Bad Cop is a one-hour procedural dramedy that airs Wednesdays at 9pm ET/PT on The CW Network. The series centers around Lou (Leighton Meester, Gossip Girl) and Henry (Luke Cook), an odd couple sister and brother detective team in a small Pacific Northwest police force. They must contend with colorful residents, a serious lack of resources, and their very complicated dynamic with each other and with their police chief, Big Hank (Clancy Brown) — who happens to be their father.
NASCAR returns to Phoenix Raceway with three incredible days of racing, March 7-9. On Friday, March 7, the ARCA Menards Series will jumpstart the weekend with the General Tire 150 at 6 p.m. The action continues Saturday with the NASCAR Xfinity Series‘ GOVX 200 at 3 p.m., preceded by NASCAR Cup Series practice and qualifying.
And then at 12:30 p.m. Sunday, the stars of the NASCAR Cup Series throttle up the drama in the Shriners Children‘s 500. Christopher Bell won last year‘s Shriners Children‘s 500, and this year‘s race promises even more excitement. Goodyear will provide each car two faster sets of "option" tires that teams can deploy at their discretion. While being faster in the short run, the option tires will wear faster, forcing drivers and teams to make risk vs. reward decisions that will increase the level of competition.
