Isuzu has a new top-dog MU-X, dubbed the Tour Mate, that adds a host of accessories for an incremental increase in asking price.

Isuzu has a new flagship MU-X off-road SUV with the introduction of the Tour Mate special edition.

Based on the LS-T 4×4 (priced from $67,990 before on-road costs), Isuzu claims to have added $9200 of "commonly selected optional accessories" such as a steel bull bar, tow bar kit, extended heated and power-folding mirrors.

A full list of additions can be found below.

As a result, the new MU-X is positioned at $73,990 drive-away, making it also more expensive than its D-Max ute siblings that share the same Tour Mate name ($69,990 for the LS-U version, and $72,990 for the LS-U+ variant).

The engine in the MU-X Tour Mate remains the same as the LS-T, meaning a 140kW/450Nm 3.0-litre turbo-diesel four-cylinder that drives all four wheels via a six-speed automatic transmission.
